Three Resources on Creativity If You're Just Getting Started

If you haven't guessed by now, I'm talking a lot about getting started with creativity. What you may not realize is that I'm building a library of resources on creativity for all phases. (How could you know that?)

I spent the weekend writing three articles, which I'll share below. I hope you like them because what it really means is that I haven't started re-revising my novel yet.

I took some training on marketing, public relations, and launching a book. Technically, those things don't fall under the auspices of “creativity,” but they all rely on creative efforts. One of the things I enjoy about writing books is that there are many things to master for success.

I enjoy thinking about stories, writing them, revising them, and even polishing them. Once you get to that shiny product, you have a manuscript. It's not a consumer-ready product yet. You still have to make the book.

That's where publishers step in, but you have to find one that loves your book. To do that, or to find an agent, you spend months sending out queries. And when you give up on that, you have self publishing.

I've published several books, and what I need to figure out is the marketing, public relations, and book launch. All while improving my writing.

Being an artist is kind of like farming in that you never lack for work. There's always something to do.

Check out these three articles. You may be the first people other than me to read them, so I hope you like them. (Let me know either way.)
